What is Lexica?

Lexica is an innovative platform designed for students who are keen on learning English effectively. We focus on matching students with tutors who are best suited to their individual needs. Our primary emphasis is on speaking practice, as we believe it is the most effective way to master a new language.

How long is one session?

Each session typically lasts 50 minutes, with time allocated at the end for feedback and review.

How much does one session cost?

The cost of each session varies depending on the tutor. Each tutor sets their own rates based on their experience and qualifications.

What will be covered in the session?

The tutor will prepare conversation materials for you to practice speaking on the spot. Half of the duration of a session will be allocated to help you ace your speaking skills. That being said, we also want to give students the flexibility to decide what they want to learn and focus on. Lexica offers flexibility by tailoring the curriculum to meet the specific needs of each student. Students can submit their desired learning topics and interests to their tutor when booking a session.

How do I book a session?

We want to build a platform that simplifies learning process. Scheduling a class should be easy with the following steps:

2. Find available tutors that match your study needs.
3. Choose the date and time for your session with the tutor.
4. Complete the payment.
5. Wait for confirmation.

How do I pay for the session?

How will the session be conducted?

Sessions are conducted via virtual video calls. The tutor will send the link to the video call directly to the student.

What if I can't attend a booked session?

We understand that schedules can be unpredictable. Therefore, you can reschedule your session. However, please note that once a session is booked, it cannot be canceled.

What if the tutor doesn't feel like the right fit for me?

Students can change their tutor at any time before booking a session. Once a session is booked and paid for, it must be completed with the chosen tutor.

What is Lexica?

Lexica is a cutting-edge platform tailored for tutors who are passionate about teaching English effectively. Our platform specialises in matching tutors with students who align with their individual teaching styles and interests. We emphasise speaking practice as we believe it is the most effective method for mastering a new language.

How long is one session?

Each session typically lasts 50 minutes, with dedicated time at the end for feedback and review.

How much should I charge per session?

Tutors have the flexibility to set their own rates. However, please keep in mind that Lexica charges a commission based on the total number of hours taught. Consider this commission when determining your rates.

What should I teach in the session?

At least half of the session should focus on speaking practice, while the remaining time can be tailored according to the tutor’s discretion. Students may also submit their desired learning topics when booking a session.

How do I get paid?

Students make payments directly to Lexica, which then deducts its commission. The remaining amount is transferred to the tutor's account. Tutors can withdraw their earnings at the end of each month.

What if I can’t attend a booked session?

Tutors are responsible for managing their own availability and must attend all sessions booked by students. However, we recognise that unexpected circumstances can arise. Therefore, tutors are permitted to reschedule up to three sessions per account.

My current rate is too low/high. Can I change my rate?

Yes, you can adjust your rate for future sessions. However, any sessions already booked will be charged at the rate that was in place at the time of booking.
